JOHN GARVEY III: During my career I've handled many types of construction site and work related injuries. Many are due to falls. Many are due to defective power equipment. But generally, it's negligent management and supervision of the jobs and the job site.

When a worker is injured on the job, he's entitled to workers compensation benefits. But there may be another avenue of legal recourse for him, and that's called a third party case. The third party being someone outside the employer/employee relationship.

By its very nature construction work is physically demanding, and even a minor injury can result in the inability to take care of the worker's family.

Some workers are injured on a job site due to a defective product. Workers are one of the pillars of our economy and our society and they deserve a safe workplace.

While I can't reverse what happened to you, what I can do is try to maximize the recovery that you're entitled to under the law to bring a sense of justice and to allow you the means to put our lives back together.
